LES MIS CHAPTER 10

The bishop gave a visit to an old man who lived far from the city who very few people visited. The old man claims that the bishop is a brave man for visiting him since he is going to die any time soon. They have a long talk about all sorts of topics even at one point about the French.

LEARNING WITH CLARK QUINN (CREDIT OPPORTUNITY)

I spent my afternoon listening to Dr. Quinn who talked about learning science, using technology to support learning at personal and institutional levels, and engagement and motivation. He was stating that it seems more difficult to learn at your own pace in times like these. Dr. Quinn also learned of a French phrase that Mr. Preston told him about which means that you think of the right thing to say after the conversation is over. There is a different discipline in science which we haven't learned yet according to Dr. Quinn. When offering ideas in science you have to be careful what you say since it can be held against you from what I understand from Dr. Quinn. When you ask 600 people if they ever use quadratic equations only 2 would raise their hand according to Dr. Quinn. He believes that together (the students and teacher) we can work for the teacher to show what we need for the test while they try and make the learning experience interesting. Clark Quinn has covered calculu

LES MIS CHAPTER 9

The Bishop of D----- seems to be perfect simplicity. Baptistine believes that her brothers end would then prove her own. She decided to keep this to herself which could be foreshaadow that something is wrong and she know but wont say a thing which will lead a trail of negative things that could possibly happen.

HOW WE READ

The four strategies to love reading are to read books you love, seek to better understand the books you don't love, reconsidering how we define the word read, and develop expertise and the confidence that will enable you to find them yourself.      The first strategy you can do is to read books that you think you will get joy out of. You can determine if you'll enjoy the book by reading the first few pages or if its part of a series where you enjoyed the first book.     The second strategy is to try and dig deep into the author or the backstory of the book. You can do this by reading one of their previous book to maybe learn a bit more about the author, You can also, see some interviews or podcasts where the author talks about themselves.     Another strategy you can use is to try to reconsider the definition of read. I believe you can do this by trying to read more books and trying to enjoy them or spend time on reviewing the book you dislike.     Lastly, you can dig deep in

LES MIS CHAPTER 8

The senator seemed to be a very clever person. The Senator and Bishop are having a long discussion. The senator seems to hate Diderot because he is an ideologist, a declaimer, and a revolutionist, a believer in god at bottom, and  more bigoted than Voltaire. The Bishop also seems to be talking about how when you don't have something you want it. For example, you might want the new video game even though you already have plenty of other games. Which can show since you don't have it you want it. Where as if you have bought it already you would want another new game to play.

LES MIS CHAPTER 7

The Bishop seems like a calm and brave person. This is because he doesn't have any doors in his house, he doesn't have any locks, and he lets everyone enter his home. He also seems very wise with what he said. The bishop also believes if anyone is going to help him or save him is god himself. He trust god all of the time. Nobody would question the Bishop.

LES MIS CHAPTER 6

The house the Bishop lived in was pretty big or at least bigger then average. The penitents assessed themselves to raise money for a new alter. Mademoiselle Baptistines made a purchase of drawing-room furniture in yellow Utrecht velvet. Madame Magloire discovered beneath the paper that there were washed over paintings.

PAGES FROM MY JOURNAL #2

October 6 I would meet people in school or near my neighborhood post quarantine. Now I don't really give myself too much time to talk to new people. I haven't really made much friends during quarantine apart from maybe 2-3 people. October 7 If the spider is small I would try to take it outside, but if its large I'm not going to hesitate and I'm going to try and smash it. It would depend on the size whether I'd take it outside or smash it. October 8 When I'm gone people might say that I was an interesting or a one of a kind figure. At least that what I think people that are close to me think. They might also think I'm a chill person. October 9 People who are important for me are my parents. This because the have done so much for me that I can't thank them enough or repay them no matter how I hard I try. Something that I think they find important is me and my two younger brothers.

LIT ANALYSIS BOOK CHOICE

The book I decided to read is Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone. I chose this book since I remember reading his book when I was I think in 6th grade. From what I remember I enjoyed this book the first time I read it. I want to read it again to see if there were details I didn't realize the first time.

LES MIS CHAPTER 5

After reading over Chapter 5 off Les Misérables I found out that M. Myriel got very little sleep which I could relate to since I don't have a good sleeping schedule. He also had a very busy life while traveling to the rich and poor. Hw would also go through the country or the town. He also liked to write and draw all to himself to help him relax and calm down which I can also relate to.

PAGES FROM MY JOURNAL #1

September 28     One thing I did this weekend that made my day better is listening to this album someone recommended to me. I enjoyed the majority of the album and introduced me to this new artist I would have not have known had they not recommended the album.                                                                     September 29     After watching tonight's debate I am worried for the future of the United States. This is because it feels like the U.S. will take an L rather then whoever loses the election. At least from what I know they have many allegations and accusations which lead to them being a bit weird but they are not confirmed to be true yet. I also don't believe they are fit to be president but that's just my take on this situation.                                                                     September 30     One time I have felt deprived was when online scho

I CAN READ

Link to fox and Socks Reading :)  https://youtu.be/gKGiZzAskkU I think I made about 27 mistakes but its better then my first recording where I had about 58 mistakes. I found out you mispronounced about 14 words after reviewing your (Mr. Preston)  video a couple times. So Mr. Preston you seem to beat me by quite a bi in time and in making less mistakes.

HOW I READ

  A) I enjoy when we would read books as a class since It makes more sense for me rather than reading it by myself since I could read a whole page then once I'm done I wouldn't even remember what happened.    B) The four recommendations are saying to read a book that appeals to you and you think you might enjoy, try to dig a bit deep to maybe find connections to the story so you keep wanting to read that book, try and change how you look at reading, and lastly start to develop the expertise and the confidence that will enable you to find them yourself.

MSS PART 2

    1) I think the difference between a sign and a symbol is that a symbol has a deeper meaning than a sign which is more simple and explanatory.       2) The three elements of symbol are the symbol itself , referent, and us (yourself).     3) I think a word is a symbol since it could stand for many things if you take a deeper look into the word.     4) A natural sign for me is for example a sign on the freeway that says how far a place is in miles.     5) A symbol I have seen in the world is a cross. It stands for Jesus. I knew what it meant because I would go to church every weekend post pandemic.

LES MIS CH 1

After reading over the first chapter it seems this book is well structured and has many bigger more complex words that I will need to search up to find the definition. It doesn't interest me just yet but hopefully I will later on.

WHY I CHOSE WHAT I CHOSE

I chose to read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer  Stone. I chose this book because I remember reading I and enjoying it a couple years ago and I want to revisit it to see if I still enjoy it or not. I have also seen the movies and remember that many parts from the book were left out.

LES MIS CH 4

After reading chapter 4 of Les Miseribles I was interested from start to finish. For me this is my favorite chapter so far. M. Myriel feels like he has committed a bigger crime than the subject at matter. This is shown by the author writing that he was in shock at how he could do something that horrible. I honestly felt that was unfair since the situation didn't get out of hand and affected large parts of the world. He could have maybe served life in prison but I don't agree with the bishop.

LES MIS CH 3

The third chapter of Les Misérables was about The bishop was traveling in a tilted spring cart when it was on the plain, and on a donkey on mountains. Two women had accompanied him. In the town they were visiting was very poor. So poor in fact that parents would let their children go on their own to try and make some money and bring some back to them from time to time. But it was also a pretty small town.

LES MIS CH 2

The second chapter of Les Misérables is appealing to me because it can sort of be compared to what is currently happening right now during Quarantine. There are also some new words I learned while reading like the word priesthood which according to google means the office or position of a priest. A lot as money started to flow few people would be able to gain while other people would go to to M. Myriel's door in search of alms.

LES MIS QUESTIONS

Some of the questions I have after reading a couple of chapter are: Will there be a valuable lesson towards the end of the book? Will there be a war between the rich and the poor?

ITS SYMBOLIC

1) Some examples of symbols I have encountered in my life are music, art, and accomplishments. 2) A possible meaning of the green light at the end of Daisy's dock in The Great Gatsby was maybe it was put to distract people and make them feel that has some important meaning. Another meaning could be the green light symbolizes their journey.  3) One way people like us are similar to animals is that we both eat, breath, and we we both give birth. 4) One major difference between humans and animals is that humans walk on two feet while most animals walk on four or more feet or they swim underwater. 5) Telling stories and inventing symbols empowers people to organize in large numbers since it brings up topic discussions and maybe they enjoy talking about that stuff.

ESSAY

Arguing is a good thing since it can help people who disagree come to a good answer to their question or their problem. There are many ways to argue. One of them is by staying calm about the situation and going back and forth or you can just not get any closer to the answer by yelling and screaming at each other.     We can also improve our country by arguing in many ways. One of those ways being by trying to find solutions to problems like the pandemic at the moment. They can go back and forth on how to find a vaccine or keep the cases at a low point.     Also some arguments could be put in the history books for the next generation to pick up and read in their class or for themselves. another thing arguing can do for us, is that it can make people bond with one another or form strong relationships with whom they were arguing with.     Lastly arguing helps come to a strong conclusion about the topic or the problem.

I HAVE THE ANSWERS

    1) The hardest part of starting school during the pandemic is not being able to talk to my teachers in person like in a classroom.     2) I have enjoyed being able to just wake up and just get on zoom instead of walking to school.     3) I want to improve my essay writing.     4) One habit I can start is to concentrate on my work more since i get distracted easily.     5) I am unsure what grade to expect this semester since I have lots of work for every class and it is stressful.
